The PS120 is one of the first presentation switchers to support USB Type C mobile devices with integrated power charging capabilities.
This under-table mountable (optional) device is a multiformat, 3-HDMI, 1-VGA, and 1-USB-C set of inputs to a single HDMI output. Similar to other Presentation Switchers collaboration switchers, this switcher is an auto-sensing auto-switcher that converts the selected input to the HDMI output. Audio is extracted for local sound reinforcment and can be adjusted using the up and down arrow buttons of the Pixie Plus Controller. Presentation Switchers + SP Controls

The KT120-01 includes a SP Control Pixie Plus control system. This single-gang silicon push button panel connects to Presentation Switcher's PS120 switcher using a single 3 conductor cable. Power is provided by the switcher to the Pixie Plus with the Pixie Plus sending RS232 commands to the PS120 when user interaction is required. This single cable solution makes installations quick and cost effective. This methodology removes the requirement of pulling additional power cables for the Pixie Plus as required in other installations with other switcher manufacturers.


The switcher includes numerous automatic features which can be disabled as necessary. The Pixie Plus controller overrides these automated features when the user wants more direct control. Often, users will disable the switcher's automated control features and utilize the Pixie Plus control system as its sole human interface. The combined resources of SP and PS allows the users and administrators decide how much automation will be allowed.


The PS120 is an under-table mountable 3-HDMI, 1-VGA, and 1-USB-C input to 1 HDMI output auto-sensing, auto-switching switcher. CEC display control automatically turns the display on when a person connects to the system and shuts off the display when disconnected - all of which, can be overwritten by the Pixie Plus controller. Further enhancing display control is a proximity sensor that shuts the system down when the room is vacated.
The PS120 is an AV-integrated IoT device. When connected to an internet-connected LAN, the PS120 uses advanced encryption technology to connect to Cloud Control, a PS-engineered Amazon AWS MQTT service for external management, control, and performance measurement. Cloud Control is an essential tool for help desk administrators for 1 to 10,000 local or distributed campus-wide management of multimedia rooms.


Today’s classrooms frequently using Google Chromebooks, Samsung Galaxy Notebooks, and other devices using the USB Type C connector. This connector is used for high resolution video and power. When connected, the PS120 routes the high resolution video stream from the device to the display while simultaneously providing up to 30 watts of power for very quick charging.


The PS120 is compatible with Cloud Control, an Amazon AWS MQTT service developed by PS for use with its AV integrated line of IoT switchers. Cloud Control allows administrators to manage a single PS120 or thousands of PS120 devices at multiple locations.


1080p is no longer the highest resolution standard for consumer products. 4K2K (3840x2160) or “Ultra HDTV” is quickly becoming the new standard, especially in larger flat panel display systems. The PS120 supports a wide array of HDTV and PC/VESA resolutions - including the new 4K2K standard.


The PS120 has a unique auto-sense, auto-switch feature that automatically switches to the source when a new source is connected to the system. For example, when a person connects to any of the 5 inputs, that person’s laptop image immediately appears on the display.


A common problem in many conference rooms is finding the remote control so one can (a) turn on the display and (b) ensure it is on the correct input so their laptop's image is displayed properly. The PS120 will automatically turn on the display when someone connects his/her laptop to the system and shut it down about 10 seconds after disconnecting (in case someone else was to connect using the same port). This feature requires CEC to be enabled on the display.


A passive infrared proximity sensor and pre-terminated cable ships with each PS120. This sensor detects when everyone has left the room and shuts down the display after a predetermined period of time extending display life and saving power.


Often, the sound coming from a flat panel display or projector is inadequate for smaller boardrooms, conference rooms, and collaborative presentation spaces. In these situations the audio from the PS120 is connected to a set of local powered speakers. Whether the source is a desktop computer, laptop, iPad™, or BluRay™ player with HDCP encrypted content, the audience will hear everything. In some classroom situations, audio from the PS120 is wired to an integrated microphone mixer then to the speakers for microphone “voice lift” support within the classroom. PS120's pre-amp feature allows volume control from the Pixie Plus using the up and down keys. Volume is only adjustable on the audio output through the RCA connectors and is not modified on the display itself.


Simple push-button source selection on the Pixie Plus makes controlling the PS120 simple. LEDs on the front panel always indicate which source has been selected.


Most source devices send an electronic inquiry to the display asking for information about it’s capabilities. The display sends a table of information called the Extended Display Identification Data (EDID). Using this information, the source device changes it’s resolution to match the native resolution of the display or some other resolution that is supported by both source and display. The PS120 intercepts the display’s response to the EDID table request and sends its own EDID information to “trick” the source into sending it’s content in a particular resolution and/or audio format. This method allows us to change the resolution of the source device without reprocessing the video image and degrading the quality of the native image. The EDID Resolution Select rotary dial can the modified using a standard screw driver to change the EDID table information being sent to the source device.


The small foot print of the PS120 make this product perfect for under-table solutions keeping the electronics well away from knees and feet of end-users.


Using the PS120’s USB Mini-B port connected to a Window-based computer, firmware updates are as easy and as quick as dragging and dropping a file into a directory or folder.
